    An exciting opportunity to join the ThinkGrid team, taking responsibility for building revenue channels through developing and recruiting channel and white label partners. In parallel, you will be engaging directly with companies to determine needs and requirements and engaging across our partners to close.     Working from home up and down the UK and Europe, the primary responsibility for this position is to identify, negotiate and manage channel deals with partners whilst aiding our marketing team and other critical initiatives to drive success. You will liaise with our engineering and pre-sales groups and provide support and help to partners. You will be able to help partners identify and capture new business opportunities, so will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and closing techniques. You will be able to demonstrate sales growth in your current client base, and have worked for or with successful IT organisations.
    The role encompasses a trial period to show off your ability to develop opportunities of all sizes and close revenue.

  • Minimum 2 years in IT/software sales management

  • The Role
    The role is split into two elements: Internal Engineering - the design, installation and maintenance of Windows server technology for delivery of virtualisation and cloud computing services. Core tasks will be the management of IIS and related services in a high density server environment, administration of relational database systems, performing system backups, upgrades, and performance tuning. Successful candidates should have experience with large-scale server deployments, and be able to provide proactive solutions to customer problems, working in conjunction with our first and second-level support staff. Another part of the role is Customer Facing - supporting the sales team in a pre-sales capacity and developing relationships with customers from a technical perspective.
    You will produce and/or deliver customer-specific demonstrations or technical presentations. Develop technical sections of proposals and answers to RFP. Qualify opportunities from a technical perspective and perform needs analysis for qualified sales opportunities. Provide training to customers and partners as well as attending customer and prospects meetings and responding to customers' technology-related questions, assessing customers' needs, and making recommendations on the best product configuration/integration.
    Interface closely with sales management and product development within ThinkGrid and provide feedback on competitive trends, market shifts, and customers' needs to ensure that ThinkGrid continues to produce products and services that match the changing market.

    Required skills and talents
  • Expert knowledge of Windows 2003 and Windows 2008 server technologies
  • Experience deploying virtualisation products such as VMware, Hyper-V, XEN and Parallels
  • Excellent understanding of AD, LDAP, Clustering, NLB, DNS, Terminal Services, VPN, IIS
  • Configuring security and services in Windows, development of scripting and tools
  • Proven networking expertise
  • Previous experience working with Storage Area Networks
  • Highly effective problem solving skills and outstanding communication/presentation skills

    Based in our London offices, you will be responsible for managing part of our worldwide territory base. Your role will be broken into a number of key areas: market awareness generation, lead generation and prospect management.
